She has been working in orthopedics since 2005 when she joined the rehabilitation team at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City. While at HSS Tara became interested in specifically treating the upper extremity and began her journey towards becoming a certified hand therapist (CHT). Tara earned the CHT credential in 2009 and has been treating the hand and upper extremity full-time since then. While at HSS Tara lead the hand therapy team to develop Smart Design: The Art of Splinting, a professional education course that taught therapists how to fabricate custom splints. This is an endeavor she remains proud of to this day! In 2015 Tara began working at Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS) in Stamford, CT. At ONS Stamford, Tara was the sole PT, CHT and was responsible for providing care to patients with elbow, wrist and hand injuries. She worked closely with the hand and elbow surgeons to ensure excellent care and optimize outcomes for both surgical and non-surgical patients. Over the past few years Tara became interested in office ergonomics and how one’s work station set up can cause injury and influence overall wellness. She has since acquired two technical certifications to perform office ergonomics assessments. Tara received her Bachelor, Masters and doctoral degrees from Boston University in Boston, MA.
